Integrate Your FormAssembly Forms

Here is a quick guide for creating PDF documents from your FormAssembly responses. We will use an HTTP Connector to send your response data to WebMerge and create your PDF document. For this example, we will create a simple order form and PDF receipt.

First, we will setup the receipt (document) within WebMerge. We will use the document builder to design a nice looking receipt – collecting the customer information and what they ordered. Take a look at the screenshot below.

Below is a screenshot of the FormAssembly form we will be using. As you will see, we will be selling t-shirts with a few options to choose from. After this form is submitted, the information will be sent to WebMerge and the PDF receipt will be generated.

Setting up the HTTP Connector is pretty easy – simply click the Connectors tab within FormAssembly, then select the HTTP Connector. From this screen, you’ll want to choose the Run Mode = Background and the URL will be your Merge URL (from the Merge tab inside WebMerge). The next step is mapping your form fields to the placeholders you setup in your document. Simply type in the name of the placeholder from your document next to the form field. Take a look at the screenshot below for more help.

Now that we have everything setup, we are all set to test! Go ahead and submit a test submission and you should receive your merged document.
