Generate and Distribute Membership Cards with Ease

Do you run an organization or group that has to create membership cards?  If so, then you’ve probably experienced the pain of trying to create those membership cards and make sure they get to the appropriate recipient.  With WebMerge, the process is really simple.  In this example, we are going to show how to create a temporary insurance card to be distributed from a list of members that are uploaded to WebMerge.

First we are going to setup our template that is going to have the name of the member, their email address, and their policy number.

Once we have our document all setup we’re going to make sure we have the Email Delivery option setup to email the card to the member.  To do this, we’re going to go to the Delivery tab, and then Edit the email delivery that was automatically created.  For the “To” field, we are going to choose Merge Field, then select Email from the list.  Also, we’ll want to update the message to provide some information about the card.

After that, we’re all ready to upload a list of the members.  Go to the Merge tab, then click the Upload option.  Here is where you will upload a CSV (comma separated values) file with the names of the fields in the first row. 

Once you upload the CSV, you’ll map the columns in the file to the fields in your document and that’s it!  We’ll merge the cards and email them out.

This is a great way to create a bulk number of cards at once by uploading the data.  You can also hook this up to an online form or your CRM to generate these automatically as their information comes to you.
