Can you tell us a little about your business?

We are a small, all-volunteer land trust in New Hampshire.

Walk us through what solution you were using before WebMerge.

A couple of years ago, we started using Salesforce under a free license to manage our donations and track our land trust data. We have about 300 households that donate to us each year. Many households donate once in the spring and again at year end, so in total we receive about 450 donations a year.

What problems were you running into that led you to search for WebMerge?

Before we adopted WebMerge, in my role as Board President, I would have to remember to once every few weeks run a report of all recent new donations, run a mail merge with a form gift acknowledgement letter, then print out, sign and mail 30-40 letters in a batch. This took a LOT of time, and also meant than many donors did not receive a thank you from our organization for 3-4 weeks after their donation.

How are the things different for you now that you use WebMerge?

Now that we have adopted Webmerge and integrated it with our Salesforce donation platform, whenever our Treasurer receives a donation and enters it into Salesforce, I receive an immediate email with a customized, mail-merged gift acknowledgement letter attached. All I have to do is open the attached letter, add a personalized sentence or two, print it out, sign it and mail it. It is MUCH easier than having to remember to run a report every few weeks and then mail merge 30-40 letters at once. It also means that our donors receive a thank you from us within a few days of their gift, not 3-4 weeks afterwards. It's a wonderful system.

Can you estimate how much time you are saving with WebMerge?

We're saving at least 5-10 hours a month.

Can you summarize in one sentence what difference has WebMerge made for your business?

WebMerge has made it MUCH easier for me to automatically generated personalized, mail-merged gift acknowledgment letters to donors within days of their donation, saved me many hours of drudgery every month, and given me a way to spread the workload to other board members.
